Catherine Hardwicke Project Update

Thanks to Reelz Channel I have an update in our old (or should I say past) favorite TWI Saga director Catherine Hardwicke. She will be working on The Girl With the Red Riding Hood, which is a modern take on Little Red Ridinghood that involves a (were) wolf-y love triangle. Hood might not be set in La Push,WA, but she may be settling into familiar territory with this one.

Screenwriter, David Johnson (The Orphan) is on board, but there's no release date or details beyond that.

Catherine's hard at work on an adaptation of Hamlet with Emile Hirsch as our tortured leading man, and Maximum Ride, which is a genet-thriller about six winged children. (Interesting?)

She's also rumored to be directing one of my favorite book's film adaptation If I Stay about a teenage girl, Mia, who must choose to stay alive or take the easy way out and die after a snowy car crash kills her entire family. The phrase "Death is easy. Life is hard." rings eloquently throughout this musically driven novel. It's a beautiful examination of the true meaning of family. (Can you tell I really loved this book?)

BC Out!
