I love this new Twilight card series Hallmark is debuting, but am also pretty ticked off. A couple weeks ago was my BFFs b-day and all I wanted to give her was one of those talking cards that said something along the lines of "Do I Dazzle you?" and I couldn't find anything remotely TWI in the entire Hallmark store! I even asked and they just looked really confused and remorseful.

O well, I guess there's always next year...and my b-day (Feb. 27th) ;}

Re-casting DRAMA

I told you guys this whole re-casting Victoria for Eclipse thing would cause drama. It all started with the statement below from Rachelle regarding her departure.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Summit Entertainment announced the replacement of “Twilight Saga” star Rachelle Lefevre in the series’ third film, “Eclipse,” on Tuesday night – and fans weren’t the only ones surprised by the news — Rachelle was shocked as well!

“I was stunned by Summit’s decision to recast the role of Victoria for ‘Eclipse,’” Rachelle said in a statement to Access Hollywood.

On Tuesday, Summit announced that Bryce Dallas Howard would be taking on the role in “Eclipse,” due in May 2010.

“I was fully committed to the ‘Twilight’ saga, and to the portrayal of Victoria,” Rachelle continued, explaining the turn of events that led to the casting change. “I turned down several other film opportunities and, in accordance with my contractual rights, accepted only roles that would involve very short shooting schedules. My commitment to ‘Barney’s Version’ is only ten days. Summit picked up my option for ‘Eclipse.’ Although the production schedule for ‘Eclipse’ is over three months long, Summit said they had a conflict during those ten days and would not accommodate me. Given the length of filming for ‘Eclipse,’ never did I fathom I would lose the role over a 10 day overlap. I was happy with my contract with Summit and was fully prepared to continue to honor it. Summit chose simply to recast the part.”

The star concluded her statement with a regretful tone.

“I am greatly saddened that I will not get to complete my portrayal of Victoria for the ‘Twilight’ audience. This is a story, a theatrical journey and a character that I truly love and about which I am very passionate. I will be forever grateful to the fan support and loyalty I’ve received since being cast for this role, and I am hurt deeply by Summit’s surprising decision to move on without me. I wish the cast and crew of ‘Eclipse’ only the very best,” she said.

Rachelle will appear in the series’ next film, “New Moon,” due Nov. 20.

Then Summit struck back setting (I think) the record straight. Hear them out. It all seems pretty obvious no one intentially quit and/or was fired- things just didn't work out.

Summit Entertainment has issued a statement which responds to the statement actress Rachelle Lefevre shared with Access Hollywood earlier today.
This all stems from yesterday’s news that Rachelle Lefevre had been replaced by Bryce Dallas Howard for the role of Victoria in Eclipse.

Below is Summit’s full statement:
We at Summit Entertainment are disappointed by Rachelle Lefevre’s recent comments which attempt to make her career choices the fault of the Studio. Her decision to discuss her version of the scheduling challenges publicly has forced the Studio to set the record straight and correct the facts.

- Ms. Lefevre’s representatives were advised as early as April that THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE was expected to start shooting in early August.
- If Ms. Lefevre was, as she describes “passionate,” about being part of THE TWILIGHT SAGA, we feel that she and her representatives would have included us in her decision to work on another film that would conflict with the shooting schedule of THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE.
- It was not until July 20th that Summit was first informed of Ms. Lefevre’s commitment to BARNEY’S VERSION, a commitment we have since been advised she accepted in early June. Summit had acted in good faith that she would be available to fulfill her obligations both in terms of rehearsals and shooting availability for THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE. We feel that her choice to withhold her scheduling conflict information from us can be viewed as a lack of cooperative spirit which affected the entire production.
- Furthermore Ms. Lefevre took a role in the other film that places her in Europe during the required rehearsal time, and at least ten days of THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE’s principal photography. This period is essential for both rehearsal time with the cast, and for filming at key locations that are only available during the initial part of production.
- Contrary to Ms. Lefevre’s statement, it is simply untrue that the Studio dismissed her over a ten day overlap. It is not about a ten day overlap, but instead about the fact that THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE is an ensemble production that has to accommodate the schedules of numerous actors while respecting the established creative vision of the filmmaker and most importantly the story.

The fact remains that Ms. Lefevre’s commitment to the other project – which she chose to withhold from Summit until the last possible moment – makes her unfortunately unavailable to perform the role of Victoria in THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE.

Wow, Summit seems pissed. Guess we won't be seeing Rachelle in Sorority Row 2.

I can not believe I'm posting this, but Rachelle Lefevre will not be reprising her role as heartbroken and hell bent for revenge vamp Victoria in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. The upside to our loss is that we have a great replacement.

Howard most recently starred in TERMINATOR SALVATION as Kate Connor and has been seen in SPIDER-MAN 3, LADY IN THE WATER, and THE VILLAGE. She was nominated for a Golden Globe for her leading performance as an actress in the HBO film AS YOU LIKE IT.

In THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE, Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger as Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob — knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella is confronted with the most important decision of her life.

OME! This is sure to cause drama. I am so bummed to see her go. I am at a loss as to why she'd leave just as Victoria gets a HUGE role in the plot. Evidently this was her decision, not Summit's. She has done so for a Paul Giamatti flick, Barney's Version, but it doesn't seem worth ditching her signature role. (I think anyway) What do you guys think?!? Will you miss her or are you anxious to see what Bryce will bring to the vengeful character? I bummed cuz she's such a sweet person off camera, but I have to admit I'm excited to see Bryce utilize her doe-eyed errie quietness to portray our villainess.

I love how completely oblivious the cast is to all the TWI tours and various ansilary events. I feel like, if anyone, they should be the ones to know, right? I guess they would never go on said tour, so it sorta makes sense, but how can you not know?!? I guess they're just busy. (Yea, that must be it. Way to rationalize, Beth) And why is Nikki so freaked out that Kellan spilled the beans about her being in Greece??? I didn't know there were beans to spill. Definintely will check in to that. Kristen describes Edward apparitions in NM

So, I know I've been all TWI (or New Moon to more precise) all the time lately, but you can blame Comic-Con for that. So much much-anticipated material and interviews came out last week in San D. I apologize to any male readers and/or non-Twilights that are getting sick of seeing Taylor sans shirt and Rob's and Chris Weitz's bromance blossom, but this post isn't going to alleviate your pain much.

Kristen Stewart describes the much hyped Edward apparitions in NM to MTV in this vid. From what I saw in the motorcycle scene that debuted at C-Con (otherwise known as Jacob's striptease.) they're going to be creep-tastic!!!

I like how Kris and Rob both have said that Bella is the true hero in the saga. (Of course those of us who have finished all four books really know.) It's true. She's the strong one. As much as I love him, Edward is so self-loathing and weak he leaves the love of his existence. Bella's much stronger than she appears on the surface people! I'm going to have to spearhead a Team Bella campaign cuz she rocks!

Anyone who can not only survive all that she goes through, but become the hero over and over is a kickass chick in my book ;} Go Team Bella!!!

Kevin Smith does New Moon C-Con style

Kevin Smith stands up for TWI-hards at Comic-Con...sorta. Even though he makes fun of us, (and assumes we're all 12 yr olds) I love Mallrats too much to not laugh when Smith talks about the room getting "moist" when Jacob de-shirts. LOL

There are a few backsided compliments, but he actually sticks up for us. I hate the double standard placed on TWI fans at these conventions. I mean is it weirder to dress like Luke Skywalker or Alice Cullen? I think Skywalker- at least Alice has some style. What do you think, do we get hated on just because we're girls swooning? I think so. And just to put it out there, those grown boys (they are no men) are swooning over Laura Croft or whoever so what does it matter?! Ugh, sorry to rant but I hate the double standard!

'Nuf said about faux-mentary Paper Heart. That combined with Michael Cera (who could stand in an empty room silent for 90 mins and would still get me to laugh) as the male "lead" is more than enough to get me to see Charlyne Yi & Nicholas Jasenovec's quirky masterpiece.

Ethan Hawke has resurfaced in just the way I fantasized he would...as a vampire- with golden eyes! Check out the trailer for Daybreakers. It looks pretty intense/hot. Bonus: Placebo rocks in the end of the trailer.

What the what?

Jimmy Brooks (Aubrey "Drake" Graham) is a rap star now??? What the what?! Guess life after Degrassi is the high life. He joins fellow co-stars Nina Dobrev (The Vampire Diaries- A show I am hoping will fill the still hemorrhaging Buffy void.) and Shenae Grimes (90210) in the life after the soapy world of Canadian teen TV. His debut hip-hop album drops (Yea, I said drops.) late this year, but he's already worked with the likes of Jay-Z and Lil' Wayne. The boy keeps good company. Check out his rhymes on his Myspace .

His beats reak of Lil' Wayne-esque robo-flow, but it doesn't leave a metallic taste in my mouth. My personal fav tidbit is when he raps "don't let your girl up out the house or there'll be shots on TMZ of me givin' her mouth to mouth" on Uptown. Judging by his swagger here, all that Degrassi street cred must be getting him some serious boyband ass. On the flip side track Say what's Real is actually quite introspective.

Who knew a continuation spin off of an angst lush 80's show would turn out to be a breeding ground for poppy new teen stars? I guess Viacon did as they morphed tween haven The Noggin channel into The-N and, come September, the soon to be TeenNick. I remember when this channel used to show music videos instead of commercials. Yes! this really happened. It was bliss until it got popular. (Like most things in the Hollywood.) Can Viacom just please take over the world and be done with it?

Crazy New Moon Day- Sorry

During today's New Moon panel discussion at Comic-Con, Kristen said "Uh, I can't wait to get pregnant," when asked what she looks forward to in the next movies. (HaHa we get the joke Kris) Rob added his usual witty banter saying, "I can't wait to perform the Caesarean!"

Taking Woodstock: Summer Must-See

Taking Woodstock Simply put, on August 28th go see it.

Staring Demetri Martin (Comedy Central regular)- Who doesn't wet themselves when they hear "Glitter is the herpes of all craft supplies."- and Emile Hersch (Love him!).

The movie tells the semi-true story of Elliot Tiber who inadventently sets the stage for 1969's Woodstock at his parents' broke down hotel. His dad puts bleach in the pool instead of chlorine (and thinks it's ok) and the 'rentals eat the "magic" brownies, oh and Liev Schreiber cross dresses. No further explanation needed.

Again, go see it!

I don't think I've ever been more excited for Summer to be over. Bring on the cold weather as long as the wolves are there to keep me warm.

Twilight Graphic Novel is coming!!!

Alright, TWI-hards you can add Yen Press to the list of publishers/production companies you worship. (Joining Little, Brown and Summit Ent.) They will be publishing a graphic novel version of Twilight!!! Publication date is still pending but it is coming thanks to Korean artist Young Kim- I tried to look up more info on this artist but Young Kim is a seriously common name. If anyone finds anything please post a comment.

OME!!! I can't wait to see the Cullen fam. (and Quileutes too, I guess LOL) Do you think they will recreate the other three books in 2-D heaven? I wonder how the wolves would be portrayed? Oh, and how about Breaking Dawn all graphic style (pun intended)?!!? I would pay to see Isle Esme in print...might have to keep it under the bed with all my Playgirl mags though (wink, wink, nudge, nudge).

500 Days of Summer- Delightful

500 Days of Summer has a refreshing take on the Indie quirk-induced love story everyone (well, at least me) is definately into. Zooey Deschanel is brilliantly cast as the anti-romantic and is anyone else uber surprised by Joseph Gorden-Levitt's deep manly voice juxtaposed against his still boyish looking face? (Sorry, it threw me for a sec.) That aside he is also an inspired casting choice for the lovesick wandering youth.

This movie is already reminding me of Away We Go and
Adventureland . Definately recommending this one. Get thee to theaters July 17th!

First off I have to say I am not a Harry Potter fan by any means. I'll watch the movies on HBO if nothing else is on and I'm caught up on DVR, but that's about it.

But, as soon as I heard Ginny Weasley was Harry's new love interest (sorry for the spoilage) in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince I admit I was intrigued and after seeing this clip I am enthralled. This looks badass! Helena Bonham Carter can do no wrong!

Why I like little kids in adult situations

This is becoming a semi-scary pattern: I enjoy films that involved kids in adult situations (not that, perv!) that may or may not be both foreign and in B/W.

My most recent find: Kisses. The film is (yes) B/W and follows a pair of runaways in Ireland. Here's the trailer.



Others to check out Duck Season and Let the Right One In. Particularly the latter- it's a beautiful Swedish kiddie vampire flick. Don't laugh. It's actually quite charming and- dare I say- precious.

Chris (NOT Christopher) Columbus Day

So, for unknown reasons director Chris Columbus is totally on my radar. First I catch his Reelz channel The Directors show (discovered this gem of a cable network because they were sneek peeking New Moon- yes, everything in my life goes back to TWI LOL. But now I love it for all it's glory not just TWI)

Now I'm pleased to announce his new movie I love you BETH Cooper (like that? her name is Beth!- that's my name FYI) is getting pretty good ratings due in part to Hayden Paniettiere's Wonder bra and a "virginal nerd" performance by Paul Rust... Wait...I think I'm having a thought...Yea I'm having a thought! He's the guy who humped the golden popcorn at the MTV Movie Awards this year!!!! OME, I can't believe I pulled that one out from one picture! (Go me!) It was probly the funniest moment of the show next to Kristen Stewart dropping her popcorn and it breaking (total Bella moment).

Newho, is anyone else surprised it's getting such good reviews? From the preview I figured it'd be just an HBO watch or rental at best.

Moral of the story a) I totally win today for recognizing Paul Rust as the faux tech award winner with an over-active pelvis and b)The galaxy has spoken. Chris Columbus and I are offically BFFs . I mean come on- he did Goonies AND Adventures in Babysitting. The man deserves a medal!

New Moon trailer before Bandslam!!!

According to Summit Entertainment there will be an exclusive (different from the teaser we all love) trailer for New Moon!!! before Vanessa Hudgens' new movie Bandslam August 14th! (OME I just realized that's only like 2.5 months before the release- que giddy squeal) It will run before all showings opening weekend.

Wow, they must've been worried about not make any dough on this one. (My guess Vanessa sans Efron = projected weak opening weekend.)

Okay, so how pumped are you to get another hit of NM?!?!? I'm psyched/bummed I have to go see Bandslam LOL. There goes another $7.50 and 2 hrs of my life I'll never get back haha. The things I do for my addiction :P

So, I got yelled at for not posting enuf so here's some dish. (ps if you comment I'll write more! J/k but seriously I will haha)

Here are the New Mooners (Okay that came out wrong) that will be attending this year's Comic Con in San Diego, CA on July 22-26. New Moon panel is Thursday July 23 for all you lucky enuf to go.

I know this is a Comic Con 2008 cast pic but it's fun to look back at how everyone has changed esp. Taylor and Rob's hair LOL. Definately better short.
